FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!

Today I went with my companions to get our hair cut, and I decided to get "highlights" but here in Brazil, I think highlights means like, we´re coloring all your hair, and I turned out pretty blonde. :p I´ll send pictures next week.

 

This last Sunday was amazing, a man named Senhor Juarez was baptized. He´s 78 years old and his wife has passed away recently, and she wanted to visit the church, but did not live to visit. It was amazing, because as we taught him, he said at night, he felt his blanket being tugged at from her side of the bed various times and various nights. He felt like she was trying to tell him something. He hesitated to tell us for fear we would think he was crazy, but of course we explained that she had heard the message of the gospel on the other side of the veil, and she wants to be baptized. It was such a beautiful service, such a sweet spirit, and I know she was there with us.

 

He hardly understands my accent, so it was great that Sister Farias helped us teach. It was only after he finally read and pondered and prayed about The Book of Mormon that he developed a testimony! The formula is very simple, but sometimes so difficult to get people to ask Heavenly Father. But when they do, it´s beautiful what happens.

 

Poor Wellington is still struggling with the cigarro. He tries so hard, and we are praying so much for him, and thank you for your prayers in his behalf. Bruna wants to wait to be baptized until he´s ready, but they decided that whatever happens, she will definitely be baptized this week. We are also working with a woman named Rose, the mother of Esther who was baptized last month. We had an interview with her and the President last week, and are hoping she will be baptized Sunday. She loved the gospel already and is sharing it with everyone she meets.

 

This Sunday we are starting our mini MTC trainings with all the youth in the ward. We are going to train them in everything they need to know as a missionary, and then each training, invite a different member to talk about their missions and show pictures and share advice on how to prepare. :) It´s gonna be great!
