FAMILY AND FRIENDS!!!!! :D
Ok, my last few emails have been super short and this week so many amazing things happened that I have to tell everything!!!
First of all, Wellington is still needing prayers, he was doing great this week, but Saturday came and he had a relaps. :( Bruna left the baptismal interview crying with joy thinking that it would finally be the day of their baptism, but Wellington still has not passed, and she wants to wait and be baptized together with him. But this Sunday will be the day!!!
Last Sunday, a young boy called Andrews was baptized, and he is amazing, but their house flooded AGAIN when it rained, it was quite sad. But it was good, because the Bishop and his wife passed there to offer help, and his whole family LOVED the Bishop.
Yesterday though, something super amazing happened. We met a lady in the street one day crying and carrying her groceries home, and we looked and saw that one of her fingers had been amputated recently. We helped her carry her groceries home, but never got a chance last week to go visit again. But yesterday we passed, and she told us about a dream she had this week.
She dreamed that she was in the hospital, and all the sudden she heard a sound of trumpets and a ton of other noise, and she knew that Christ was coming back. She told the nurses she wanted to run home and tell her family that Christ was coming, but they all said, "You don´t need to warn them, everyone knows at this point, do you hear all that noise?" She ran home, and she said the streets were filled with angels who were gathering everyone in the streets who were prepared, and they were in such a hurry, they weren´t even paying attention to her when she tried to talk to them.
She looked up at the sky and saw a large, round, green door, wide open. (Which when she said that, made me think of Bilbo Baggins. :)) She said there were four more doors inside, and Christ was up inside the door. Everyone in the streets were running and entering the door, and she was so sad though, because the door closed and she was left on the earth, and she could hardly handle the noise from the door closing. She said it was a terrible dream, and we explained to her, that the path to enter this door is baptism, and she needs to prepare now, because we don´t know when the door will shut, and she needs to warn her family too, as it says in D&C 88:81.
She accepted a baptismal date for the 27th of Fevereiro, and we are super excited! Another super cool story from yestday, is a couple we received as a reference from the Elders who taught them in another area. They are AMAZING, and were married legally, were obeying the word of wisdom, but the day of their baptism, they had to leave the church for like, 30 minutes, but they never came back and went back to theCatholic Church. We got there yesterday, and they are never at home, but we prayed super hard in our hearts, and she let us in, and then her husband had randomly decided to come home from work early! Even though she didn´t want us to stay, her husband said we could leave a message, and it was great! They had already visited the temple and were incredibly excited for marriage there in a year, so we talked about temples, Joseph Smith, almost everything! They are going to pray again, and the wife still has a pretty close heart, but we are going to pray a lot for them that all goes well.
Another exciting thing that happened is a family that we met, the wife is Talita, and everytime I passed their house, I felt something good about it, but we never encountered them. But they are so prepared, they are married legally, and she wants to go to the church so badly already! I was doing a division with the Stake President´s wife when we met them, a reference from another Sister, and it was an awesome lesson.
And sorry if I´ve already told this story, I think I did, about Pamela, Another super elect girl! She´s 21 years old, and the best first lesson I´ve ever taught on my mission. We went and the first thing she said was, "what do I need to do to prepare myself to serve a mission like you?" We said, you need to be baptized and have a testimony that the church is true. (but...not in that order of course) She asked when she could be baptized! She read the parts of The Book of Mormon we marked, but Satan in his riduculousness is always coming up with a way for her to not go to church. The latest was she has a foot infection, moved to another street, and wasn´t working where we usually meet her at the bread market. She had told us what street she lived on, in a pink apartment complex, and when we went, we didn´t know what number. So guess what we did? :D We pressed the...I don´t know how to say it, campainha... the little buttons so they know you want to speak to the person who lives there, of EVERY CONDO! :D there were 40, but we didn´t get through all of them, because all the sudden the electronic thing started to freak out, and the owner of the complex came out and got really mad! But after a minute or so, it resolved itself, and we did a contact with him! He said yes, he accepts a visit! :) We are very excited to visit him, and he showed us another condominium that Pamela probably lived there, and we found her, infected foot and all! :)
Anyway, life here is spectacular, I love my companions and I love being a missionary, it´s the best thing ever! I hope everyone has a super great week, and I love you all like crazy!
